Anna Molls
Wildlife Rehabilitator & Education Coordinator
Brief info
Anna Molls is a wildlife rehabilitator and behavioral ecologist passionate about the intersection of animal care, research, and education. After graduating from Hoja Nueva’s six-month Wildlife Rehabilitator Course, Anna joined the team to lead the Mixed Internship Program, where she guides students through the daily work of preparing diets and enrichment for wild animals in rehabilitation and long-term sanctuary care—always emphasizing ethical, hands-off management that supports natural behavior. Her role bridges science and practice, helping aspiring conservationists gain real-world experience in wildlife welfare and rewilding.
Alongside her work in wildlife rehabilitation, Anna plays an active role in Hoja Nueva’s domestic animal rescue program, applying her skills to improve the health and wellbeing of dogs and cats in local communities. Her compassionate approach and attention to behavioral needs reflect her academic foundation in behavioral ecology and her commitment to creating meaningful change for both wild and domestic animals.
Anna is currently completing her Master’s degree in Behavioral Ecology at the University of Münster, where she leads a research project across Latin America focused on the rehabilitation and reintroduction processes of wildlife rescue centers in collaboration with Hoja Nueva. Her research and on-the-ground experience exemplify her dedication to developing more transparent, data-driven, and compassionate approaches to wildlife care and release. When Anna isn't taking care of our mixed interns, she would likely be found baking for them!
