Eva Chomba is the lead wildlife veterinarian at Hoja Nueva, where she applies her vast experience and knowledge to the care and rehabilitation of both domestic and wild animals. As a highly accomplished wildlife veterinarian in Peru, Eva has spent decades working in animal conservation and medicine. She serves as Vice President of Unidos por los Animales (UPA) and holds veterinary positions at both Zoológico Camposanto Santa Rosa de Lima PNP and Zoológico Quillapampa. Additionally, she works with ADI Latinoamérica, focusing on wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, and directs the Escuadrón de Salvación de la IASD Chorrillos. At Hoja Nueva, Eva oversees the health and well-being of all the animals under the organization's care. Although she doesn’t live on-site, she is integral to every major health check and pre-release assessment, ensuring that each animal is in peak condition before returning to the wild. Eva's expertise in wildlife medicine, along with her passion for animal welfare, has made her a key figure in shaping conservation efforts both at Hoja Nueva and across Peru.
