With a degree in biology from the National University of San Antonio Abad del Cusco (UNSAAC), Joaquin uses his background in ecology and mammalian biology to provide tailored care to each animal. His expertise extends to creating specialized diets and nutrition plans, ensuring the animals are healthy and well-prepared for life in the wild. Joaquin excels in enrichment activities, focusing on stimulating the animals' natural behaviors to promote physical and mental well-being. He specializes in the care of smaller wild cats, such as ocelots and margays, and also supports Jared with the rehabilitation of larger felids. Joaquin’s scientific approach to animal care, combined with his dedication to their welfare, ensures that each animal receives the best possible chance for a successful return to the wild. In his free time, Joaquin enjoys playing the violin, having been a member of the UNSAAC symphony orchestra, and is passionate about enduro mountain biking.
