Yvonne Flores Figueroa

Administrator & Accounting Coordinator

Brief info

Yvonne Flores Figueroa is one of Hoja Nueva’s longest-serving team members and leads much of the organization’s administration and accounting coordination in Puerto Maldonado.

Born and raised in Madre de Dios, Yvonne has worked with Hoja Nueva for more than six years and has seen the organization grow from a much smaller field operation into a multi-program conservation organization with research stations, wildlife facilities, community projects, staff, students, and increasingly complex logistics.

She helps coordinate accounting, payments, financial records, purchasing processes, documentation, transportation, student logistics, airport arrivals, and communication between the Puerto Maldonado office and the remote Las Piedras field sites. Much of what happens in the forest depends first on something being organized correctly in the city, and Yvonne is central to keeping those systems connected.

She also carries extensive institutional knowledge: understanding how suppliers, transport, schedules, staff, government processes, and field needs fit together.

Her work rarely appears in photographs of wildlife conservation, but it is fundamental to making that conservation possible. Yvonne provides much of the administrative continuity behind Hoja Nueva’s research, rehabilitation, education, and community programs.
